Do you wish to improve your egg cooking skills? We spoke with Yasmeen AlSawwwaf, a chef who specializes in egg cooking, about the most frequent errors people make when making eggs. She gave us her tricks and tips to make every type of egg dish. Learn how to cook eggs in the most healthy method.

Baked eggs

Mistakes when boiling eggs AlSawwaf says that the most frequent mistakes are:

Cooking cracked eggs

In a small pot prepare the eggs.

Too many gallons of water is in the pot.

It is not advised to add salt into the water.

Boiling eggs

Peel the egg once it is cool.

How to avoid it: AlSawwaf advises that you choose eggs that are not cracked for boiling eggs. It is also important to select the proper pot. She suggests choosing a pot that is deep enough for eggs to sink completely into the water. “Fill the pot with enough water to over the eggs by not more than two inches.”

AlSawwaf recommends salting the water used to boil eggs. Salt water is more likely to boil than water that isn’t saltyhowever, it is not enough to bring it to a boil. AlSawwaf suggests that eggs be simmered. Eggs cooked too quickly can crack or overcook. For a consistent cooking experience to ensure even cooking, a slow simmer is the most effective. Place your eggs in boiling water using an elongated spoon. While you may boil hard-boiled eggs in boiling or simmering, medium and soft-boiled eggs must be prepared in hot water simmering over the stove.

It is essential to select the right timing. AlSawwaf said that eggs should not be cooked until water is boiling. She states that a six-minute egg is timed once the water has returned to a simmer. The cooking countdown can be started only once the water is back to an acceptable temperature. Another illustration is eggs that have been hard-boiled. When you place eggs in cold water, the process begins when the water starts boiling. You then begin to count down the ten-to-12 minute period.

Poached eggs

Make These Mistakes when Cooking Poached eggs. This is one of the most frequent mistakes when poaching eggs, according to AlSawwaf.

Vinegar should never be used in poaching fluids.

It doesn’t require a huge pot to permit poaching

Make sure the water is warm

Not using fresh eggs

Use the exact same bowl to crack all your eggs.

AlSawwaf advises that vinegar and salt be added to the poaching fluid. This will extend the set time of egg protein and stop streaks from spreading.

For ensuring that the yolk and whites of your eggs are as flawless as possible, crack each egg into separate bowls. AlSawwaf suggests using a pan that is at least 6 inches in depth to cook your eggs. This will give the final product a teardrop form. She says, “Drop the egg in the boiling water. The egg will sink down to the bottom, and then slowly float up on top and form a teardrop shape.” Perfectly poached eggs should take between three and four minutes. The eggs may need to cook for longer if there are more than one egg in the boiling water. By using a spoon with a slotted end, remove the egg from the pot. Then, put it on a towel to dry.

Eggs should be cooked only at medium-high temperatures. AlSawwaf suggests that eggs are cooked at temperatures ranging from the 255-280 degree F. He explains that eggs could become brown and blister when they are cooked at a high temperature. This is why it is essential to fry eggs in the middle of the oven before they get too hot. Eggs that are cooked must have whites that shine, not blistering or burning. The yolks should also be cooked according to your preferences.

AlSawwaf warns against cracking eggs directly in the pan. It is recommended to separate eggs from their pan in order to ensure they aren’t broken.

Add a little water to an oven to cook your egg sunny side up. To steam the eggs make sure to cover the pan, then cook the eggs’ yolks. AlSawwaf recommends that you turn the egg using a spatula and then butter it until the egg is at the desired temperature.
